Water Colors
The sky is god's canvas
the sun his pallete
a soft lavender hue first
and then a rose pink
then quickly blood red
so fast you can't blink
the sun is ordered to leave
at last he retreats
God splatters bright white
across the sheet
the dew drops of light
glitter and shimmer
the canvas is now midnight
the ivory moon glimmers
God's painting is done,
for now returns the sun
