The Buick
My parents are in denial.
I am not as senile
As they would like to believe.
They plan to get me a Buick Century,
Though I might rather be in a penitentiary
Or possibly eat my sleeve
Than drive around the city
As people stare at and pity
My old-man car.
They say it gets me from point A to point B.
They say I should be filled with glee.
I say, “How bizarre.”
Maybe I will get a unicycle.
