My Eternal Walk Home
You taught my dreams to swim
They’re swimming through my veins and swirling around my heart
Causing painful hurricanes
You made me, raised me, changed me
As I moved from home to home
As you kept away the pain
We planted wildflower seeds
On the fields of my brain
Now those blooms have grown over
Infecting my body with hope, so
You made me, raised me, changed me
On our eternal walk home
You threw the sun in my eyes
And I welcomed the blinding light
It told both truth and lies
As it spread through my limbs
Shining through the scars on my feet
You made me and you raised me
But it is this walk that changed me.
