Loss
Lost a part of myself today
Got rejected last night
Told that I was too immature
And that I need to grow up
The invisible hand on my heart tightens
Choked in its grasp
Unable to get out
Now the words of rejection flood my mind
No,
I don’t want you in my life
Someone told me to leave you in the dark,
That someone your former friend,
Unable to do anything right
Making a complete mess of my life
How much more can a heart be forced to hold?
How much more hurt must be piled on top without a break?
What way to put the past all behind
And all my regrets?
A shattered heart
A broken mind
It feels like I lost my best friend today
And maybe I have
A feeling so fresh
The scar so long and deep on my heart
Yet only one among many others
Shall time help it fade?
My hurt go away?
My life ever be enjoyable again?
I lost a lot today
But what tomorrow shall I gain?
And yet to lose another day?

of a scar on my heart.
literally everything.
this was beautiful =)
It's interesting the way you didn't include some words so the poem sounded kinda broken-almost like what the poem talks about, about being broken.
I'm learning how to analyze a poem, so I hope that helped you learn something new about your poetry. i have a teacher who always shows me something interesting about my poetry I didn't notice before. If you did see it, and meant the poem to be taken like that, extra cognrats because i could never do that cool stuff on purpose. It's always an accident with me! :)
