A Tree
A Tree
 A
 Tree
 shades the picnic of
 two friends talking about
nothing in particular. It is born from the
dirt, growing tall and strong with the light from the ball
of fire in the sky and the tears of the heavens. It creates simple
beauty on the earth with its leafy arms and makes oxygen for us to breathe. It
is killed by the chopping of wood-cutters clearing the land to develop cities. It is
used for paper, furniture, houses, and hiding spots. It is hugged by environmentalists and
other lovers of the earth. It is climbed by children going to a paradise in the branches. A tree
 shades the picnic of two
 friends talking about
 nothing in particular.
