The Red Daffodil

December 8, 2008
By Anonymous

Golden orbs sway in the breeze
Shining on the fertile field
Basking in each other’s light
Standing tall, arrogant
Despite the approaching bleak night

Blanket of blonde flowers
Coats the rolling hills
But there were six scarlet pedals
Reflecting the abundant rays
From the auburn sun

Shunned and ridiculed
Bullied and teased
But who was that flower
That received the enticed stares
From the outsiders, onlookers, gentlemen?

Amazing! The poets use of imagery creates a real and vibrant world. The plot develops with the abrupt changes in imagery/field. The methaphor is fresh and leaves the reader wanting to read more. Well done!!!!!!!!!!

Cool poem, very deep. i feel a budding poet is here! I'm impressed with how Shannon can put her thoughts into such amazing poems. I've read other poems of hers, and she always blows me away!

Awesome word choice! The poem, the Red Daffodil, gave me goosebumps. I can relate, I often feel like an oddball, and this poem really spoke to me.
