The Choice
There you are
To the right of the road for which I am standing
There you are
To the left of the road for which I am standing
Neither of you are the same
This is why I must choose
But once I start to walk the path that one of you are on
I can never return
I cannot go back
This is why I must choose
But the choice is difficult
And I can never return once I choose
For if I choose one I shall miss the other
Which shall I choose?
You are both very promising
Too promising
And I know I shall regret choosing
One over the other
Stop.
Am I sure?
Do I want to go this way?
No.
I don’t
Again I’m stuck
But the choice is difficult.
And if the choice isn’t made soon
Life shan’t be worth living
But the choice is difficult
And I have chosen
I shall return to where I started
This is my choice
This is my decision
And I’m going to live my life by it
Because this is where I belong
