Christmas Angst
A favorite time of the year
Lights are put up on houses
Decorations of every kind
Mistletoe is hung from above
An excuse to be kissed
Presents are given
There received
A countdown begins
Days until Santa is finally here
Eggnog fills the fridge
Gingerbread houses occupy the table
Snow falls
Icicles form
We keep waiting
The presents under the tree grow
The smell of cookies always in the air
Days become unbearable
Christmas eve is finally here
Cookies, milk and reindeer food
All set out on the table
The night before Christmas is read
And everyone snuggles in there bed
It is so hard to sleep
The sound of something on the roof
Down the chimney
In your living room
You hear bells
Suddenly the noises drift away
In the morning could it really be?
Has Santa clause been here?
You run down the steps in disbelief
Then you stop to think
Christmas is finally here
It is here
But tomorrow it will be gone
