Unexpected Love
You know all the answers
You raise your hand
Before mine hits the air
You’re such a goody two-shoes
‘Cause you never swear
You have no friends
At Lunch, you sit all alone
And when P.E. rolls by
You always groan
You’ve got brown hair
And really nerdy glasses
And I hate you
‘Cause you’re passing all your classes
You read encyclopedias
And think homework is fun
You’re known as “The Nerd”
And “The Professor’s Son”
Eight years pass by
And you’re the hottest guy in town
A football player
Who always scores touchdowns
You’ve lost the glasses
And your hair is now blonde
You say, “What’s up?” when you see me
And walk away before I can respond
You’re beautiful
From your head to your toe
I’m your Juliet
And you’re my Romeo
Wedding bells ring
I’m walking down the aisle
And I can’t help but notice
That tear in your eye
Fast forward a few years
And we have two kids sent from above
All this time we should’ve known
It’d be an unexpected love
