Baseball is a man's best friend;

He will be by your side until the end.

The sound of the crowd on their feet,

Feels like a lion's roar just waking from sleep.

Your favorite player steps up to the box,

He stars at the pitcher like a man hunts the fox.

He stretches his hand for all to meet,

Knowing that the next pitch might be something sweet.

You cover your eyes with fear inside,

It's getting late and the game is tied.

With a ninth inning tie game,

This could be his ticket to fame.

The next pitch is thrown with a strike to the glove,

Now the count is 0-2, your spirit is not above.

You pack your things thinking strike three, when you hear a clash.

Your head turns quickly, it is going going gone, it is a bash

Your hero stands still, taking it all in,

when you realize that your team got the win.

As soon as you leave the stadium with a smile,

You stop and think for a while...

As I said before, baseball is a man's best friend,

he will be by your side until the very end!!!
