Stage Fright

Bright lights shine on you.
You start to sweat.

Curtains open.
Your heart starts to race.

It's almost time for you to speak.
You think of the words you need to say.

Your cast mate gestures towards you.
Your palms start to sweat.

Your mind is blank.
You quickly try to fix your mistake.

Your heart races faster.
You're sweating bullets now.

This is bad.
You start to stutter.

Your breathing gets harder.
You're panicking.

Your cast mates cover for you.
They shoot you a worried look.

You start to stagger.
You see the front row.

And you hit the floor.

The author's comments:
I wrote this peice right before my first High School play, I was nervous on stage for the fist time, and I decided to write a poem about stage fright.
