Hamsters
What are hamsters’ lives like, trapped in a cage?
Are they happy, or overcome with rage?
Food delivered to you,
All play, no work too
Chubby cheeks, having fun,
On a plastic wheel they run
Or are they prisoners behind metal bars?
Wishing to escape, to see the stars?
Forgotten, hated, despised,
“Let us out Steve!” they cried
But old Steve has left them behind,
The poor little hamsters have left his mind
Left to die in their metal death cage,
The thought of this makes me enraged
Pets are important, like a child,
They belong at home, not in the wild
So have a happy, healthy hamster for a pet,
That is a decision you’ll never regret
