Friendship
I want my words to befriend you. I want them to be there for you when you nobody else is. I want my words to wrap around your body, pulling you in close, letting you know that it is alright. They will have a deeper meaning to you, if you let them in. My words will do more than simply travel into your ears, ride through sensory neurons, and become processed in the auditory cortex. I want my words to travel straight to your heart, to let you know that it’s okay, to let you know that you are not alone, to let you know that you matter to them. My words want you to put the razor down. Stop slicing thin lines into your delicate skin. Stop hiding the scars you have created. Stop pretending that you are okay. My words want to be your friend. My words need to be heard.
