I peered through the window,

and saw the soft pillow.

A child resting her head,

while going to bed,

her house right beside the black willow.

The soft dark air,

brings her to be unaware.

of the presence by the door,

as it walked across the floor,

to find her sleeping there.

Nightmares form within her dreams,

much scarier than it seems.

She woke with a start,

the fast beat of her heart,

couldn't compare with her terrible screams.

I burst in through the door,

and dashed cross the floor.

I went to the bed,

the girl wasn't dead,

the poor man was dead to his core.
