T'was The Night Before Thanksgiving
T’was the night before Thanksgiving, and all through the house,
All were waiting for the taste of turkey to fill their mouths.
Rustling and bustling all in their beds, they just couldn't sleep,
They tried counting turkeys, they tried counting sheep.
The thought of the meat, dark or white,
Caused them to drool all through the night.
Grandpa couldn't take it no more,
He rushed to the kitchen and opened up the fridge door.
He gobbled up turkey,
And buttered potatoes,
Pickles and carrots,
Beans and tomatoes.
Once full and plump, tired and slow,
Grandpa knew that everyone else would be filled with woe.
The whole part of the Thanksgiving flow,
Was to eat all that food as a family, not alone.
Once everyone was awake,
They saw Grandpa’s mistake.
They shook it off, and went to a diner.
They found out that their food was much more finer.
