Dust in the night
All the same day by day
Just following the steps as they lay
Not a single questioned is asked
All feelings remaining masked
We say we have minds of our own
Yet we walk around each a mindless drone
An endless game of follow the leader
Working to constantly pay the meter
From sun up to sun down
Simply trying to survive to the next round
Instead of happiness, were all content
As long as we make it by, no one will exempt
What happened to our goals
What about our roles
The difference between parent and child
What's wrong with being careless and wild
What if we want to be free
To where do we flee
Where do the geese go
If your aware please let me know
For in this place I dont belong
They all tell me I am wrong
If this is their idea of right
I'll be gone and leave them in the dust of the night.
