They say Hope is Free
Hope is free. No charge.
Did you know that?
They must surely buy it at large
to sell it to pockets both thin and fat.
I do, however, think,
that the store ran out today
because in my desperation I sink
and the tears are just at bay.
"Hope has not a price!"
Say the wise men in their glee,
But in my ears they squeak like mice
for hope does not seem to favor me.
