The War
Noise, mostly after effects, trauma you can hear
A shiver in the cold damp night, reflecting mirror from mirror
No calm, no sight, the light perked night, brings horror to their eyes
And all the while thinking "God, why'd you feed us lies?"
Huddled now together, young men go marching through
Their sorrow latent, their fear concealed, their hearts remarking rue
A clash outside, the scream filled air, thick with burden bearing
A horrid dream, to reach out now, a terror they are sharing
A tool so taken lifelessly, it's shout so speaking death
A chilling sigh, a distant gaze, breathing their last breath
A call for them, a blamed redemption, essence at 'The Bend.'
A rendered truth, a faltered past, sorrow at an end.
