Pretty (e.h.)
There once was a girl so pretty
That the sun blinked at her sight
  And everyone became so jealous
At the way she shone through the night.
  Everybody wanted to be pretty
Like the pretty girl they all knew
But alas the world didn't work like that
  So their hatred henceforth grew.

They said bad things and stained their tongues
With poisoned words cloaked in deceit
And the pretty girl cried because she had been taught
That words were all she could believe.
The girl became sad but nobody noticed
Because even in grief she shone
She didn't understand why she had to live
In a world so dark and alone.
Late one night a door was opened
And her parents wailed in despair
For the pretty girl they were so proud of
Was hanging suspended in the air.

The girl had been gifted with beauty
And the outside was all people had seen
That they hadn't given her the chance
For her to share her loving personality.
