Reminiscing in your breath-taking beauty,
I’m haunted by this illusion of me

Hard to configure a sincere smile
Greif won’t allow my lungs to breath
I’ll search for a place to hide a while
Or shelter my soul for eternity
Watching my darkened world through closed eyes
The impenetrable wall trapping me
Never again will your bright blue eyes shine
Though, your touch is kept in my memory
Dear My Lost Angel, let hope be my sword
Hushed cried of torment burn in my vocal chords

Without your warmth evermore comforting,
I have returned solely to skin and bones
This battle shattered my fragile being
Liberate my soul from the dim unknown
You have embodied a world without chains
Please show my heart to live freely
I wish to savor my short numbered days
Until the end greets unexpectedly
Ever plagued by this internal monster
Defenseless and frail, reveal the answer

I lay collapsed in my mental prison
Unable to escape this mosaic of emotion
Whispers break silence painted in crimson
Only you can free me from this affliction
Inevitably, my world will perish
Shattered dreams will fade to dust
But my pure love shall never diminish
With trembling hands, give into the dusk
True devotion is everlasting
Demands to be felt, a breath worth grasping

Dear My Lost Angel, forever within,
Is believing in roses such a sin?
Just as their buds do unceasingly bloom,
Your blazing eyes shall remain ever blue.

This poem began as a homework assignment and it didn't take too long before I fell in love with every word written on my worn out lined paper. It was inspired by a book I had read but soon took on a story of love, loss, and longing for a new beginning.
