Pierce My Heart
Pierce my heart with the words you speak
Watch the blood fall as my legs grow weak
My eyes cry out for answers unknown
Extricate lies from the truth that you’ve sewn
Your begging hands do nothing to remind
Me of the blissful life I left behind
I beg of you not to exploit my forgiveness
Free me now lest my love falls perished
The weight of my heart is held up by fire
Memories of you, a broken desire
Although you have built the foundation of me,
You will no longer haunt my deafening dreams.

This poem was inspired by real life as many of my poetry is. I was enduring a painful breakup and turned to my pen and paper for therapy.
