Stolen
The words she knew she left unsaid
They rang around your ears
The pain she thought she hid so well
You saw in unshed tears
The fear she kept all to herself
You saw in trembling arms
The hate she felt for being so weak
You saw in fading scars
The way she said that she was fine
You saw the truth unspoken
The way she pulled herself together
Said that she was broken
Her every talk of happy days
You felt were of the past
She spoke of brighter futures
That would never come to pass
She hid her feelings, but she didn’t
Cage it in so well
Could be by error or she was
Calling out for help
I know you saw her tear stained cheeks
But you never believed
You ignored her chained down soul
Her quiet cries and pleas
And now you act like you didn’t know
She planned to leave for good
Now you act like you never saw
The signs she hoped you would
I hope you know it’s all your fault
It’s all because of you
You stole the girl I could have saved,
And ripped her heart in two.
