Reminisce
Do you remember when we first met, Aly?
The day I walked into your office and you introduced yourself?
Do you remember that day, Aly?
I was quiet, but mostly I was afraid.
Afraid of the unknown.
Not knowing if you were friendly.
Not knowing if you were funny.
Not knowing if you were trustworthy.
But now I know there was nothing to be afraid of.
Do you remember that time when we sat on the stage together on my big day?
When you helped me and made me smile when I was nervous?
Do you remember that day, Aly?
When I instantly felt connected to you as a mentor, and friend.
Do you remember all of the vacations?
Do you remember them, Aly?
When we spent entire weekends together.
When we sang and danced and laughed.
Do you remember that, Aly?
Do you remember giving me advice with everything and anything?
Helping me stay strong in times of hardship.
Helping me find the right words to say.
Do you remember that, Aly?
Do you remember the last time someone told you that you had changed their lives?
If not, let me be the first to say...
Aly, You have changed my life, and for that, I could never repay you.
