Forever
If summer lasted forever we would live on lemonade,
With every day's end we would be awarded with shade,
If promises lasted forever then her and I would still be friends,
We would laugh all day; no worry of an end,
If beauty lasted forever we would always walk in stride,
We would never have to worry about keeping 'him' by our side,
If flowers lasted forever we would always awake to a sweet scent,
We would never have to be reminded of the spring that came and went,
If youth stayed forever and we never got old,
Then we would never be reminded of our mere hearts we had sold,
If this moment here with you in my arms lasted forever,
Then thinking about a world where summer passed us by,
Where the only way to keep friends is to lie,
And where our skin would never stay clear and fair,
Where we are greeted with ever dieing flowers,
A place where a child's youth barely consists of a few hours,
Would never be on my mind.
