The Meadow
Birds chirp,
as pheasants take the air.
All goes silent
Herd of graceful deer,
prance out with pride,
all throughout the meadow.
The ground pounds with energy
rocks shudder,
grass flows,
streams run.
Then all goes silent and still.
A shiney object emerges from the brush.
Crows burst,
heads turn towards the disturbance,
one shot missed.
Run.
Sprinting to the forest,
not to ever look back.
Safe at last,
home sweet home.
