The Difference
In the first weeks of their life
Birds are forced to make a choice
Either step out of the nest and fly
Or be simply pushed
They made the smallest of decisions
Yet so large in their minds
So similar to us
Once upon a time
Just a few years ago
We landed on the ground
But it didn’t take long
For us to turn it around
Little has changed
Since we all fell out of the nest
Because those of us who flew
Were no better than the rest

Everyone is different. Some people go at their own speed, and this poem explains how no matter how fast you do things that that does not make you better. I was inspired by my teachers always saying to slow down. When I was younger I did not understand this concept, but as a grew older and more mature, I realized that they were right. It doesn't matter who finishes first. That does not make them superior. Overall, rushing things will not make you more successful.
