Brush Strokes
My brush slides over the canvas
Just a little more yellow here
Some sky blue there, too.
Make the canvas come alive.
My palette a rainbow of delicate colors
Dirty brushes and napkins all over
I want to sit for hours painting,
I can't keep waiting.
It needs to be finished today
Or I won't be able to sleep tonight
Wondering what it'll look like
When finished. There, just right!
This is what I'll do for life.
Inspiration will never abandon me
For there's a whole world in the canvas
So many scenes to see, people to meet,
When you just find the time to paint.
