I Miss You
Your voice,
Your laugh,
Your smile.
Seeing you was always the best part of my day,
But you aren’t here.
Driving up to the VA,
Just to see your face once more.
Every time you saw my face,
Your’s lit up like the sun.
Laughing and joking around,
Fishing up north with you,
Letting me drive the boat.
Knowing not when I might never see you again,
These days are lonely without you.
Just knowing that i’m not going to see you again,
Every time I see the cemetery where you lay,
We pass it and I sit in silence for your remembrance.
I know that you watch over me,
Protecting,
and cheering me on at my competitions,
Knowing that you will always be with me,
no matter what happens to me.
