Broken
I jump like a hare
The ball in the air
My finger goes back
I land with a smack
My finger pounding
On fire it burns
One knee around me
My finger is turned
I’m rushed in a car
With a cross colored red
As I lay upon this weird lumpy bed
“I’m better,” I say
As I return to the team
To wake up and find
It was only a dream
With the pain in your hand
From my sister you see
Please will you play ball
With me
