The Dispensable
I am the perfect hostage,
 So delicate and small,
 So bold in animation,
 So malevolently tall,

 I am the perfect stranger,
 For you to seduce,
 So nimble and elegant,
 So oddly obtuse,

 I am the perfect prey,
 For you to pounce on,
 So unaware of evil,
 So happily staunch,

 I am the perfect pawn,
To play me like a game,
 So gullible, and easily satisfied,
 So kindly reframed,

 I am the perfect friend,
 So kindly aware,
 Standing by your side,
 Making sure everything is clear,

 But I am someone,
 In which to rely,
For I can be those things,
 If only you tried,

Or I can be the one,
 You turn to, to cry,
 A stranger who is used,
 And then tossed aside,

I am the dispensable, human riptide,
A person inside, A soul to confide,
Someone to be engulfed in affairs,
But only a friend if you pressed to dare,
 I am the dispensable
