A Line and a Sign
Here is the line, a broad strait line
Between here and there, us and them
And there's the other, that grand old sign
Which, I think, can stop a growing mayhem
But wait, the line shakes and varies
As another of a different taste
Comes to stare and also tarries
To tell me where the line is placed
We yell and argue, moan and retort
To prove the line is here, not there
But as we try to use the sign for support
We found that neither had made an err
