Orchestra of War
The curtain of clouds parts.
We start our symphony with a bass
The dull roar of a B52
Preparing the song to start
Bombs and missiles rain down
Providing the elegant whistle of a flute
Explosions are my drums
Keeping beat and exciting the crowd
The fires are my synthesizers
Providing an array of sounds
The dying shrieks below are my choir
Louder and louder they sing
And here I am, the conductor
Driving forward the music
Preparing my Orchestra
For the crescendo
The roar of paratroopers
Harmonizes with cries from the city
The gunfire is my symbols
Rapidly struck, over and over
The flutes play more frequently
The drums bang harder
The choir sing louder
The concert is at its peak
You can hear it now, can’t you?
The music of the battlefield
Who will give a standing ovation
To my Orchestra of War?
