Rain drops tickled my face early in the morning,
My last 4H horse show of the year at Hudsonville Fairgrounds, was is going to start storming?
Today was different than usual,
My horse and I were going to show walk, trot, lope because it was suitable!

It’s almost time for my first class of the day,
Show started at 8:00, class was third, Harmony had to stop eating hay.
I started to put the show halter on my horse!
It was secure against her face that way I had force.

Mouths dropped as they saw we were very fancy,
We practiced the pattern so I could surprise Nancy.
I replayed the pattern over and over again in my head so it would stay,
All I could think about was walk, trot around the cone, stop at the judge, set up for inspection, 90 degree turn, and walk away.

Butterflies in my stomach made me tingle, I walked over to the gates,
Practiced a lot before the show, hoping with the show we could make it to states.
My friend and I kept practicing Harmony wouldn’t fall asleep,
My turn came, I went up to the cone other wise it would have been pretty cheap.

I was in the middle of my pattern, there was a little girl with some goo,
I just kept going, my horse was doing tremendous, I did pretty good too.
The judge's name was Nancy,
She was dressed all fancy.
We got second place out of 14, I got to go into the trophy class too.
The trophy class was laborious, there was going to be a big competition, together we have grew!

I started to practice the pattern right away,
This would probably be the most difficult  pattern for the day.
After I got through the pattern, all I could think in my head was fail,
Forcing a big smile on my face, I walked over to the rail.
I didn’t think that I won,
I got second which is a horse neck ribbon, wow that was fun.

Later that day I would do some riding classes,
Butterflies in my stomas didn’t settle yet, the day still passes.
Right before my english class it started to rain,
I used my brain.
I ran back to the trailer,
On my way there was a mailer.

After it stopped raining, my English class was over, I realized we were doing pretty great,
We sat there waiting for the update.
It was time for my western class, we have to change tack,
I also had a snack.
My horse and I looked great,
We were almost late.

During the class Harmony decided we were done, throughout a buck,
The judge barely saw it out of luck.
The other judge was a male,
His name was Dale.
That class was entertaining, it was a fail,
We were like a snail.

Later on was my bareback class,
Harmony had a lot of sass.
Her back was like a pool,
She still looked like a jewel.
I got into the class, she bucked, stopped listening to me,
On top of that I had to pee.
My horse and I ended up messing around, decided to bail,
I rode along the rail.

I couldn’t help myself but just laugh in class when I passed my dad,
We were doing so bad.
We did excellent, Harmony and I did better than I thought we would.
In my eyes there was no reason to be mad, we did very good.

The windy Wednesday of the week was a win,
Maybe I should cover my grin.
I should not have been afraid for the classes after all,
It’s not like I had a hard fall.
Overall today was one of the most perfect days of my life,
Yet I thought it was going to be the worst day like being stabbed with a knife.
