Time and again
Time was a peculiar man
Always on the run with an agenda of his own
Never willing to listen to the cries
Invisible, he was a blessing and a curse
His wisdom allowed us to grow
Controlling history with the watch
Wishing for school to end, children intently watch
The clock embarks on the never-ending chase for the ticking man
Within the blink of an eye, the students grow
Into astute teachers with lessons of their own
Time wrinkled the bud of life and cursed
The fading petals to dust that vanished with a cry
And behind every facade smile lies the cry
Of a lonely heart watching
Others’ lives and thinking his is a curse
Oblivious to the gifts time bestowed men
Humanity searches for ownership
Of materials waiting for their wealth to grow
Every heartbeat marks our growth
Through hardship we learn to cry
Understanding when to let go of our pride and ownership
Opening our vision to not only watch
But pay heed to our fellow companions
To cure the countless curses
Disease, war, and death were all curses
Pandora’s box was opened as evil grew
And as years passed so did men
Ignoring the planet’s and animal’s cry
All we did was stand and watch
On borrowed time and a life of our own
Because time could not be controlled or owned
Humans became greedy and cursed
This man for snatching away our precious memories and watching
The pains in our lives seep through our bones and grow
Into an inscrutable monster crying
For the last hope of humanity
Time forced us to travel a one way highway
Building relationships, learning to cry, and transitioning into a man
Time in his convertible passes me, I thank him for the blissful curse
