Unknown Reflection
It’s like being on a nonstop rollercoaster
Either up, up in the sky or down in the dirt
A brain that’s 90% nonsense and 10% logic
Growing up but still mentally a child
And having regrets pile up like delayed laundry
Peering into ourselves and not knowing
What mysteries lie beneath
Mirror, mirror on the wall, who are we among them all?
The rich bathed in rays of gold sunlight
Jewels glimmering in prisms of color
While another stood atop of endless waste
The scent of gunpowder burned his nostrils
Blood slowly seeped into the crevices of his mouth
Eyes brimming with hot tears
As death became his new norm
Their fates decided by the flimsy green paper
Mirror, mirror on the wall, who are we among them all?
The future is an endangered chameleon
Transitioning from the pure cactus green of budding life
To red, the color of earth's cries as its offspring
Are engulfed by humanity's greed
Our footsteps scar her porcelain skin
Clawing out her resources like a ravage tiger
Our arms steal the treasure of tomorrow
Mirror, mirror on the wall, who are we among them all?
