Lying there in the darkness of the night,
She had nothing she could do, nothing she could say,
There was no movement, she'd lost her sight.
We had no idea what had happened, there was a fright,
We didn't know that this would be a price she'd have to pay,
Lying there in the darkness of the night.
She tried to move with all her might,
But she couldn't budge or hear, so she just laid,
There was no movement, she'd lost her sight.
The pain she couldn't feel, she tried to fight,
The only thing to do was wait and she may,
Come out of this darkness of the night.
All the sudden colors came back, she had her sight,
Now she could breathe, but she didn't know what to say,
Still lying there in the darkness of the night.
Now she's on medicine to help her fight,
But she's still fragile, she's still fray,
Hoping she won't have to ever lie there in the darkness of the night,
With no movement, and to keep her sight.

The author's comments:
This piece is confusing but it's about my older sister. She was diagnosed with narcolepsy and cataplexy (don't know if I spelled those right) but whenever she laughs too hard she falls down and has minor seizures to where she can't move her body or see or speak. So this was about when we first realized that something was wrong.
