Why Hide My Pride For You?
Late night, warm night, first of the year
Waiting for the train, legs bare
A quick up down gaze from the crowd
Desperate to find cover, to hide, to run
Waiting for the train, legs bare
Proud of them and what they have done
Desperate to find cover, to hide, to run
I'm afraid of my pride. I am cowering.
I’m proud of them and what they have done
From lakes to volcanoes they’ve got me
I am afraid of my pride. I am cowering.
Afraid of their thoughts, what they will think
From lakes to volcanoes they’ve got me
Highs and lows they will never let me down
Afraid of their thoughts, what they will think
Why am I afraid of sharing my pride?
Highs and lows the will never let me down
My body is my machine, my joy
Why am I afraid of sharing my pride?
Learning confidence, learning to love me.

This a poem written with an Pantoum structure. It is about sort of my inner conflict about wanting to be proud of my and body and what it is to me, but than also being afraid to by what other peope may think.
