When We Are Young
I broke the glass
And blamed my brother
To get myself out of trouble.
I trapped a worm,
Called it my pet,
And let it dry and crumble.
I lied and said
I did my chores,
So I could go and play.
I snuck the candy
In the cart,
And made my mother pay.
We commit small crimes
When we are young,
Yet we’re called the innocent youth.
I think this shows
All is forgiven
When we face our sins and tell the truth.
