Cardboard
Once upon a time
There was a hollow box
Inside, which lay
A mess of cardboard dreams
Easily broken by warring countries
Easily shattered by battling parents
Easily destroyed by conflicted powers.
Tattooed by coupons proclaiming
Effortless
Free
Simplicity
All these things the dreamer dreamed of
And the cardboard tried to be
But the strength was never found
For how do you stand up
In a puddle of water?
