A Light in the Dark
The darkness surrounds you,
And it’s hard to break away
It’s hard to claw through,
It’s hard to slay
And it’s hard to break away
Bid light adieu; forget all that you knew
It’s hard to slay
You know that it’s true
Bid light adieu; forget all that you knew
The darkness keeps the light at bay
You know it’s true
But still, you say:
“The darkness keeps the light at bay,
It makes things harder to go through,”
But still, you say:
“My mind is askew,
It makes things harder to go through,
Everything is astray.”
“My mind is askew,
But the darkness will not make me decay.”
“Everything is astray,
And I may feel blue,
But the darkness will not make me decay.
I will get through it, that’s true.”
“And I may feel blue,
But today’s a good day,
Because I will get through it, that’s true.”
The light will come to drive the darkness away.
But today’s a good day,
Though it’s hard to claw through.
The light will come to drive the darkness away,
Even when the darkness surrounds you.
