Crashing the Waves
The ocean beats to its own rhythm
The wind sings to its own tune
My hand moves sand in its own pattern
My eyes follow the glowing moon
My breath mimics my pounding heart

Birds cry as they fly by
Even crabs seem to have an agenda
 Not me.
 No. I’m ready to fight
 Fight against the crashing waves

Be different from the pattern of life
Change the way the clouds move
Make the water rock with me
That’s how special I want to be

 And so I stand
Ready to change the entire land
Fighting for a way to destroy the wind
To make the moon bow down
I will make a difference in what we can be
