Reflection
Ebony reflects in the mirror
revealing someone unknown, someone fierce
brittle from the time that has quickly
passed me by, causing the once perfect, flawless
skin to sag, yearning for the reflection that screamed
love, only to reveal a heart ruined by a lifetime of graffiti
I dream of becoming the orchid I am told
used to dance amidst hope, love, and security while
trampling on anger, envy, and grief.
