Peace
I want to jump out a window. I will not flail my arms. I will not grope at the window frame. I will not scream as I fall. I will not fall. I will
Fly. Glide. Swoop. Twirl downward. Float.
With the snowflakes, I too, will fly.
Making my landing, I will come to rest
On a fluffy bed of snow.
Finally.
Breathe.
I will ski for hours upon hours upon hours. I will not
Weary. You doubt me. Say
I’ll drop to my death.
Break my neck.
It’s only the second floor.
Say that I
Won’t have the energy.
Can’t make the trek.
Aren’t capable. Won’t be able to.
Not made of the right stuff.
Can’t.
Can’t.
I can.
