alone I lay
Laying alone in the dark too only hear the wind
Whistling hard carrying leaves and loose dirt
Nothing I can do to stop it except to wait
And out of nowhere an owl appears
So mysterious watching me
I dare not move or attempt
for it will move itself
Soon to notice the wind has died as
To the owl I speak
Turning its head back and forth
as if it understands
Soon I get up and the owl stay still
I reach out and hope to touch it
To find out the next morning
My life would be changed
I see it nested in the tree
Outside my window I see
Knowing there was a new family
I would see the owl more
