The Fear
Music drowns out the poison

Of this world that calls my name

 I hate to be identified

With this world of hate and shame

So I bury all my worries

 I let the music play

 Turning up the volume loud

So I can't hear what they say

 But above all the sounds

 Pulsating through my head

I begin to hear a whisper

 Of something, someone said

I switch the button to stop

As my conscience returns to me

 I listen to their words

 And reenter this reality

 Our conversation grows dull

And my awareness starts to fade

I give them I final smile

Before i decide to walk away

Then I put my headphones in

As I resume my life again

Switch the button back to play

Hoping this song will never end.
