You can have the low crackling of the fire burning deep into the night,

If I can have the splashing of water against the chipped dock early in the morning.

You can have the Persian cat moping quietly and diligently around the old house,

If I can have the German Shepherd breathing heavily from long sprints through wet grass.

You can have the silence of the night covering a vast cloak on the universe,

If I can have the vibrant colors of day glowing brightly to liven up the world.

You can have the orange basketball spinning softly in the wind,

If I can have the striped baseball darting in and out between gloves in the dusty field.

You can have the boisterous music deafening your hearing at concerts,

If I can have the quiet of a stormy day reading a good book staring into foggy surroundings.

You can have the thundering roar of cars and trucks honking horns in the colossal city,

If I can have the small town with little chirping birds and chipmunks scurrying around.

You can have the creation of a poem standing tall like a totem pole sprinkled in mud,

If I can have the conclusion of a poem landing softly on the soil like a wilted feather.

This piece took me a long time to write and while I was writing this it caused me to choose more descriptive words.
