Magical Meeting
I open my eyes, stretch, and slide out of bed.
I go about my usual routine as the sun begins its customary ascent above the horizon.
I walk down the stairs, and greet my father, who is waiting patiently, as always.
But, oddly, it seems he’s not my father, but rather someone else familiar.
I approach forward, and look closely, in the golden rays of light through the window panes.
And I realize, with a jolt of recognition, who it is.
I feel my heart swell with indescribable emotion — his face evokes memories, joyful and warm.
I wonder how my grandfather has returned — but I stop myself from inquiring deeper.
I rush towards him, and we embrace, like old friends from a past life.
No words are exchanged; our smiles and crinkled eyes tell all.
And I close my eyes, basking in the peace of the most magical meeting.
