Freakshow
The clowns pull a face,
And jump in the air,
Ride on the backs of elephants,
While the people stare.
The puppeteers move,
Like the animatronics they hold,
Talking without making a sound,
And letting a story unfold.
The trapeze do flips and turn in the air,
Bending at a whim,
And flying up high,
While it's the sky they skim.
The strongman lifts up a thousand pounds,
Never letting the barbell go crashing to the ground,
While people applaud,
They can hear the sounds.
The ringmaster last,
To keep them all together,
Cracks the whip,
All dressed up in leather.
They keep this show going,
One act at a time,
Keep the audience entertained,
Until the final chime.
Most importantly so the audience done,
They applaud and shout,
They want an encore for days,
But finally it's over and they can all pout.
