My Hair
My hair
Big and fluffy
Curly and knotty
Ugly and tawdry
It's filled with chaos
It's wild and stormy
My mom tells me it's stunning
Though I don't believe her
People are staring
Life is just so unfair
Her hair
Sleek and flawless
Straight and knotless
Beautiful and bounce less
It's peaceful and tranquil
It's a perfect fit
People tell her it's stunning
She lets it get to her
Why can't I have hair that looks just like her

Her hair gets all sorts of attention. The good kind, unlike mine. She's my sister and I can't let her know it affects me. That I'm all kinds of jealous. But sometimes when we argue, that's the first thing she goes after. I don't want her to know the truth, so I write it out. I wrote this when my mom refused to let me chop off my hair. I just hope I can find comfort in my hair. Like I always say, every rose has thorns.
