Ocean
Money and greed, a deceiving ocean,
Will pull you under its relentless waves
If you are unfortunate enough
To take the first step in.
With that first step,
You are addicted, cannot draw away.
The money is so valuable
And the greed pulls you that way.
You are in a trance
As you enter the awaiting ocean
Ignoring requests to turn back.
You don’t realize that this is the last chance for that.
Floating in the water,
You feel very brave.
And when a wave towers over you
It pulls you to the watery grave.
Seeing all the wealth and fortune
Under the ocean’s waves
Attracts you like a magnet.
All you want is more.
For you there is no resurfacing
Because there’s nothing for you here.
All you want is money and fortune
And you have all that down there.
Your family began to sit and wait
For you to return to them.
But then they realized, even if you did return,
You would be a stranger to them.
